We are incredibly pleased to announce that Appalachian's Broyhill Fellows have triumphed in the Southeastern U.S. Sub-Regional Round of the CFA Institute Research Challenge. Advancing as Sub-Regional Champions, they now set their sights on the Americas Regional Semifinal (see Breakout 2) next week, where they will proudly represent not only Appalachian State but also North Carolina and the entire Southeastern U.S. With immense pride, we celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of Brianna Gilmore, Corbin Lammers, Derek Mahato, Ashley Meacham, and Maximus Pavone. The dedication and hard work of these students make them stellar ambassadors for our university, and we could not be prouder of them!
The team extends its thanks to Mr. Chris Pavese, our CFA Industry Mentor and President and Chief Investment Officer of Broyhill Asset Management. His unwavering commitment and expert guidance have been instrumental in preparing our team for their continued success.
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a global security analysis competition that begins at the local level. Appalachian teams have won three out of the four Southeastern Subregional competitions held to date. Despite facing stiff competition from esteemed universities across the Southeast, our Broyhill Fellows, alongside the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, have skillfully advanced this year. The following six universities participated in the Southeastern Sub-Regional competition:
